Why is everyone is looking for new
Body Building tips?
Normally tips are designed to supersede old tips as the art of bodybuilding, fitness and exercise
workouts progresses...or that is supposed to be the way it goes. But as the video below shows, many of the
'old' body builder tips are still relevant today. Wasn't it Mohammed Ali who said the best bodybuilder tip he
knew was to 'rest' between work outs? (he advocated 1 day on, 1 day off). When considering bodybuilder tips,
people are always looking for the 'secret' that will help them develop to the next level or find a new
breakthrough that will enable them to reach a new plateau.
There is nothing wrong with this approach if you take the tips below on board, of course, but it
does ignore the common sense approach that can lead to true success that anyone working out, desires.
In fact, the true 'secret' to body building success is rooted in simplicity and not in any magic formulas such
as the latest dieting fad or equipment gimmick.
Jack Lalanne's Top ten Tips!
The Best Tip of All
If there was a best of all body building tips that was the most critically important tip to follow
it would be to avoid over training. What overtraining entails is working out too many times per work or working out
for durations that are excessive. (Excessive would generally be anything longer than one hour straight) Also, it is
unwise to work out if you feel sick or are seemingly suffering from an injury so as not to aggravate the
injury.
Now, there are those individuals out there who may be reading this and saying…no way! If you don’t
work hard, you won’t make any gains! Well, this is partially true. One of the most critical of all body building
tips, however, is that not only must one work hard, one must also work smart!
Every body has a limit - don't push yourself beyond it
don't over train! your body needs rest
don't workout if you have an injury - listen to your body
Work smarter not harder - consistency is the key
If a person works himself too hard in the gym, the body simply stops itself growing muscle. In
fact, the body may reject the additional stress and start a process called atrophy which causes the body to waste away.
Obviously this is not what anyone working out would want so the best advice is to avoid such
excessive training. So attending the gym (3 or 4 times a week) and working out in a more consistent and moderate
way is the key to make further gains. If you are working yourself to the point where you are causing injury on a
regular basis then the entire process will be self defeating. This is probably the best of all body building
tips. Click here for more on Bodybuilding Basics.
If there is a lesson to be learned from this story it would be that there is no magic formula for
building muscle and getting fit as every 'body' does have its limit. If you decide to push it beyond its boundary,
progress and ultimate success will not be achieved.
