Can one participate in NCAA athletics if they are enroll in Graduate School?
Is it possible that someone could play basketball for a college while enrolled in Graduate school and has no previous college experience.
*I’m speaking more on NCAA eligibility rules.
Your eligibility covers four years. Some people get their degree in three and use their fourth year of eligibility while in grad school, Others forego athletics in their freshman year (a practice known as redshirting). If these athletes graduate in their fourth year they still have a year of eligibility which they could use while attending grad school. There are also exceptions made for prolonged injuries in a given season. Unfortunately most athletes use this extra time in meaningless classes. For instance I believe Matt Lienert took only ballroom dancing his final season of eligibility. So in essence if you make the team you’re fine.
