Plyometrics – the best way to use it in a normal workout routine (for a hockey player)?
I workout regularly at my local gym, but mostly it was typical weight lifting, upper and lower body. Since taking Plyometrics for the lower body (different routines jump, etc.), I noticed a great improvement in my skating and ice hockey. I want to implement plyometrics also in my upper body routine. My question: Is it a bad idea to do plyometrics and weightlifting in the session same year? Since they work different muscle fibers (slow twitch versus fast twitch)? Will I develop these two different types of muscle slower than someone who focuses only on one?
I belive that you should talk through your coach or personal trainer. It has to do with your role play in hockey and what you need in your muscles.
